Frequently Asked Questions
About Flower of the Heart
What is FOTH?
FOTH is the shortened version of Flower of the Heart.
How is Flower of the Heart hemp grown?
At Flower of the Heart, we have a close working relationship with a collective of 7 farms that we source from in the U.S. They exclusively use organic practices from germination to extraction. All plants start from seed and grow in soil amended with manures from their flocks of poultry and herds of goats. The hemp flowers are then hand harvested at the peak of their growing season.
Their outdoor grow operation harnessing the energy of the sun and the pureness of natural spring water allows us to capture the healing power of nature in our CBD products.
We believe in sourcing products from plants grown naturally and sustainably. Our farmers ensure us that they do not use feminized seeds or other unnatural products.
GUIDELINES FOR FOTH PARTNER FARMS:
• Certified Organic
• Plants started straight from (non-feminized) seeds
• Dried to 8-12% moisture content to preserve terpenes
• Small-scale gardening
• Hand harvested
• The collective farmers work together to share knowledge, advice and celebrate community
What type of extraction methods do you use?
Our partner farms utilize the Super Critical CO2 extraction method. We feel it is the most natural, pure and environmentally friendly process to extract cannabinoids. This method provides us with a full spectrum oil that is free of residual solvents. Our full spectrum oil includes ALL of the cannabinoids found in the plant as well as retains the essential vitamins, minerals, Omega fatty acids and terpenes that naturally occur in hemp.
How do your methods and products differ from other growers and manufacturers in the industry?
We can’t speak for others, but we encourage anyone that is interested in CBD or thinking about purchasing CBD products to be well-informed and to ask the growers and manufacturers:
Where is your hemp grown?
What farming methods are used to grow your hemp?
What extraction method do you use?
How often do you test your flower or products for CBD content?
Do you test your CBD?
About CBD Oil
What is CBD?
Cannabidiol (CBD) is one of the most prevalent chemical compounds in the cannabis plant. Unlike the better known tetrahydrocannabinol (THC), CBD is non-intoxicating. CBD can be found in other plants too, like broccoli and kale, but the hemp plant is where it is most abundant.
Is CBD legal?
Yes. CBD is legal to be bought in all 50 states of the U.S. Flower of the Heart CBD products are fully tested and verified by third party analytical labs by our farmers. Our 1500mg contains no more than 0.3% of THC, which is the legal limit for THC in CBD in the U.S. Our 1000mg contains no more than 0.2% of THC, which is the legal limit for the other countries that Flower of the Heart ships to.
What is the entourage effect?
A full spectrum CBD oil that contains high levels of CBD, as well as other synergistic cannabinoids and terpenes, is more potent than an isolate or broad spectrum CBD oil. Cannabinoids are more effective when they are found together versus when they are isolated. This is known as the entourage effect.
Is it safe to take CBD with the medicine or supplements that I use?
Please refer to your doctor or health care provider for any questions about the safety of our product for you. If you use prescription medications, take supplements or have underlying health conditions that cause concern, check with a health care provider to make sure that our CBD oil will be safe for your use. We are always willing to discuss our product with your health care provider and provide any information they might require to accurately answer these questions for you.
What are the most important factors to consider when buying CBD oil?
When buying CBD oil, it’s important to focus on the quality of the CBD oil above all else. Where is the hemp sourced? Is it organic and natural? Does the company provide lab-verified test results for each batch it sells? From there, it’s about finding the right product type for your needs. Not all CBD oil is the same, so taking the time to research companies, read reviews, and try different products is essential to finding what works right for your body’s needs.
Can I get high from CBD?
You can’t get high from CBD oil, even when taking a full spectrum CBD oil product like ours. Our products have less than 0.3% THC within them. This is not enough THC to get you “high.” For comparison, the average joint has anywhere from 8% to 30+% THC in it.
What is the most effective way to take CBD?
CBD can be taken sublingually, topically, or orally. CBD oil is versatile and can be used when cooking or baking. It can be added to water or drinks, too. Flower of the Heart recommends CBD oil be taken sublingually, holding under the tongue from 30 seconds up to 9 minutes before swallowing for maximum impact.
